Future Cities Lab Singapore to continue
ETH Zurich established the Future Cities Laboratory (FCL) at the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) in 2010 which will continue in a second phase starting September 2015.
PLUS contributes to the interdisciplinary research on ecosystem services in urban landscapes. The research focuses on how to maximize the benefits of green areas, i.e. on the role of vegetation in ambient cooling, flood mitigation and removal of particulate material from the air as well as on how the ecosystem services provided by urban rivers can be secured. Findings will provide insight into the sustainable design and functioning of cities at local and landscape scale.
