Prioritizing ecosystem services in rapidly urbanizing river basins: A spatial multi-criteria analytic approach by D. Vollmer, D.O. Pribadi, F. Remondi, E. Rustiadi & A. Grêt-Regamey (in: Sustainable Cities and Society)

An MCA approach was used in a case study in Jakarta, Indonesia where a spatial plan was being developed to help mitigate flooding risk, conserve agricultural land and restore forests. The approach involved scenario development, ecosystem service quantification and mapping, preference weighting, and optimization to maximize preferred ecosystem services while minimizing cost.
